It is essential to remember that before we are Calvinists or Arminians, we are first and foremost, Christians. Jesus stated: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35) It is important that the reader not take these arguments as personal attacks, but rather, to allow them to stimulate further Bible study as we continue to ask tough questions, in examining all things carefully. As Christians, we must get along.
The most productive means of dialogue with a Calvinist is by sticking to one point at a time (without trading encyclopedias, since such discussions are rarely productive), and while remaining respectful and courteous (because once charity is lost, the Calvinist will see you as an enemy and completely tune you out), and the truth of the matter is that the whole purpose of theology in the first place is to honor God, which is completely undermined by high-handed bully-tactics which by no means honors God.
