“But let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.
Calvinists must presume that a person knows the Lord only by an Irresistible Grace. The thing about Calvinism is that it seems so detached from normal relationships, but Calvinists actually use that as a basis for further confirmation, rather than rejection of their beliefs, which only drives them deeper into a cultic mentality.
Question: Is Jesus discouraging boasting?
Answer: The part about “boast of this” would indicate a positive action. God seems to celebrate the fact of people knowing Him, and encourages it.
